I have been eyeing this lamp for a while and it finally went on sale, which made me go forward to purchase. I bought 2 for each of my night stands in my bedroom. I read all the reviews and knew the pros and cons ppl were saying. My only disappointment with this lamp is that the finials are very cheap looking… not a heavy brass plated look. I decided to keep the lamps because I love everything else about them. I did read where some ppl felt the gold on the base looked cheap but I didn’t think so, just the finials…but you really can’t tell once the finials are in place. The lamps are a classy timeless look! I love these lamps. I am not a "modern" furniture lover, but these go great in my transitional house. There is a shorter version but I tried out another lamp I had the same size and found it was not tall enough to read by.
