Each 40-gallon chamber is separated and can compost independently. As with the majority of the tumblers, the dual sensor is manufactured using recycled polyethylene in Lake City, Pennsylvania. This plastic is BPA free and for contact with edibles. Setting up the composter is easy; simply place the composter in a mostly sunny spot (partial shade in hotter climates) and you're done. It feels sturdy. I like the size and design. All the pieces went together easily EXCEPT for one of the support tubes. It wasn’t quite narrow enough to fit into the connecting piece.
