Other reviewers are correct when saying the temperature dial needs to be set above the needed temp to get a correct preheat. Remedy with a hanging oven thermometer. Do not, I repeat, Do not get the ‘GE Installation’ service with this appliance. Even if you buy an installation kit. The technician will come in, excuse in hand, and will tell you that any dust, or light green on the gas pipe disallows them to service the installation. (When plumbers test for gas leaks upon installation they spray a little water on the line, leading to a light green) Be ready with your own plumber on the day of delivery. Overall very good for a narrow profile stove for a small condo unit. However, the available specifications suggested there was open space at the back for power and gas lines, but this is not the case. There is only about 3" on either side, which required moving electrical outlets and the gas line in order for this to slide into place properly. I just love my new cooktop. The design makes it really easy to clean. In terms of performance, I noticed that cook times are a little bit shorter. The gas dial has a wide range, so I can go from very low to high flame. Also having an additional burner is great. I can have multiple meals going at the same time. I waited over a month wanting to live with it before writing a review. Not only is it visually appealing, this stove works and works well. My sourdough breads are beautiful and evenly baked. Stove temperatures are very accurate. Very easy to clean inside and no problems keeping stovetop clean . Another wonderful feature is the lighted knobs letting you know the burner is on.
