Was a little surprised the side access panels were held on with velcro, but it isn't like you can tell and that likely makes them much easier to get on and off than alternatives. I wasn't able to install because my water valve is too close to the back, but that is because my valve was put in wrong and not that there is something wrong with the toilet.
