They are solid chairs, but they did require adjusting the feet to get them stable. You also hear the feet on the hardwood every time you pull the chairs in and out. Unfortunately, they looked very much like a big chain "furniture store" purchase. I was wanting something more refined. I did recover the cheap white fabric in a blue and white toile to make them look more elevated. I also monogrammed a couple of them as well.
