Wow! This a real, legit basketball hoop and backboard. It can go up really high and is very sturdy. I don’t think it’s terribly portable, because it’s really heavy duty. I think it will hold up very well over time, and it does allow you to fill the bottom with water or sand. The only issues there are with this is that the assembly directions were a bit vague, and the actual basket is a little frayed, right out of the box. I just assembled it and it wasn't too difficult. I'm not very handy (though my wife is) and we got it assembled in a couple hours. It's easy to move and easy to adjust the height, which isn't always true for these kinds of units. The backboard has the deadening effect for bank shots that is common for these units, but not true to play on a basketball court. The oddest feature is that, if you make a shot on the 10-foot setting, there's a good chance the ball will hit the lip of the base and deflect 50 feet away. It's like punishment for making the shot.
