I was super excited to finally get the 8qt compared to my 4qt that I've been using for about 20 years now. I only had this now for 4 months found out you have to set it on low or it will burn whatever chili or meats you are cooking in it. I was using it to chili the other day and started to smell something burning. So I looked at the outlet and the cord to find the cord was melting. Waste of money I do not recommend. Randyc. I bought this unit when I became a senior widower, purchasing it for the express purpose of cooking for one. Its 2-quart capacity is perfect for a small houshold and it performs that task beautifully and, like its big brother, is easy to clean with its two-part design. I have two larger units for family visits. Another feature i like is the simple heat control. It doesn't reset or fail during a power bump as seems to be happening with increasing frequency.. While this roaster is the perfect size (14qt) I specifically bought it because it says that there is a buffet server included...There is not. The product description is inaccurate - the server is only included with the 24qt size and the only place I found that information was the manual that came with it. However - when I informed Wayfair CS they did offer a replacement and were nice about it. It is a nice roaster.. Molly. Saint Ann, MO. Tue Oct 20 2026
