Nice big 32 ounce jars! There are four in the set and they come with labels. There is also a white marker to use with the labels. They can be used for so many things in or out of the kitchen. For correct assembly, the gasket tab must be positioned opposite the stainless steel clamp. If the lid is sealed onto the jar, the vacuum has taken place. Carrying out this simple test avoids the danger of inadvertently consuming spoiled food. In order to open the lid, pull the rubber ring tab allowing outside air to enter the jar thus neutralizing the vacuum and easily lifting the lid from the jar. These jars are great - I do love Kilner jars. They're sharp looking and look great on my countertop. they hold up well in the dishwasher. Something I've learned though is that I do prefer the round versions of these jars as they are easy to work with on the counter and in my pantry as far as placement... but - the jars themselves are fine.. These are nice jars that can be used for many purposes. Right now I’m using them for spices and it’s nice to have containers that are the same size although there is no shaker lid.
