The warm white glow is soft but still bright enough for stairs, hallways, closets, or a bedroom at night. I use these on a staircase that has a turn and sometimes gets dark at the turned stairway. They have remained charged for a month and always come on and are triggered from a good distance. This doorbell was a lifesaver. Old, cloth wiring to our charming antique doorbell with a Westminister tune was no longer reliable and running new wires through a rock wall an impossible DYI task. Installation was super easy and the best surprise was that the default of the different chimes options is no other than a pleasant Westminister chime!
