Bought it for a 10 by 10 space and it kept the room UBER cold! My son would shut it off because the space would get so cold. I had the previous model and the door broke from opening to clean the filter. Therefore, it was nice to see they changed it to a pull out feature to clean the filter, which is better. We recently got our Dandby 12000 BTU window ac because of the scorching heatwave in the summer. And yet so far it does prove it worth. It cools down our living room space. It is recommended that you wait 24 hours to turn your unit on after it arrives. I went against that recommendation because it was absolutely sweltering in my studio space that had nothing but a fan. I purchased two of these bad boys to cover 1030 ft.² of open space with 18ft ceilings. I met FedEx AT THE DOOR! And they brought them in for me and set each unit at each window I wanted them to be placed. So delivery was smooth and easy. The installation instructions were easy to understand and the units took no more than 10 minutes each to be installed. NOTE: you will need some weather tape to seal off some gaps, but that’s to be expected. It was likely about 90° in my space before I turned them on and these had me feeling much cooler and more comfortable within about 30 minutes (run on medium at 68°) and after about an hour and a half, I didn’t feel the need to run them on medium anymore. They’re pretty quiet on the low fan cool setting, but of course they are louder on medium and high but nothing that will disturb my peace in my studio. having a window AC unit is not the prettiest thing so I can’t speak to aesthetics but I’m very happy with these —my problem has been solved.. I had searched since last spring for a replacement air conditioner. Each time I thought I had found one with the features I needed, it wasn't available or sold out. This window AC unit has been a great addition to our home. First things first it is really heavy, so I definitely recommend having a second person help with installation. Once it’s in place, though, it’s absolutely worth it. It cools the room quickly and does a great job maintaining a comfortable temperature, even on warmer days. I also like that it has multiple functions and settings, so you can adjust it to fit your needs rather than just turning it on and off. My only minor complaint is that I wish it were a little smaller, but honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever seen an AC unit that wasn’t bulky! That’s just part of the deal with window units.
