The dimensions are correct and it is a sturdy piece once you finally get it assembled. However if you don't like ugly silver screws showing all over the place both inside and outside this is not the piece for you. I'm going to try getting some fingernail polish and seeing if I can disguise them a little bit. Normally pieces like this come with stickers to cover the screw heads with. Very disappointed in that.. This bookcase is so cute! I like that it looks different from other bookcases I have. The rounded top and its narrow build are what caught my attention. I have small rooms with very little storage. So, this bookcase fits perpendicular to a wall, which is what I need. It was very easy to put together alone. The directions were clear, and a bonus is that it came with the screwdriver I used to build it. The rounded top is actually a flat poster board material.
