I finally broke down and invested in a better vacuum. This thing is amazing! Mostly hard flooring and its highest setting picks up everything- doesn’t blow it around. Lower settings handle even my flat washable rugs and don’t suck them up. The real test? I accidentally sucked up a metal door stopper that had broken and I immediately stopped the machine and took it apart to find the piece. Found it…in the bag. These work very well for preserving food. I have used them for vegetables, sliced meat , and a roast. They send you little plastic domes with the kit , I initially couldn't determine what these were for. After putting sliced roast beef with juices in it and the juice getting sucked up into the vacuum, did I realize the domes were to keep liquid from getting in the vacuum.
