The dimensions are correct and it is a sturdy piece once you finally get it assembled. However if you don't like ugly silver screws showing all over the place both inside and outside this is not the piece for you. I'm going to try getting some fingernail polish and seeing if I can disguise them a little bit. Normally pieces like this come with stickers to cover the screw heads with. Very disappointed in that.. I couldn’t have found a better shelf for the space I needed. We live in an old house that we are remodeling so needless to say our spaces are wonky. We have a space next to our safe and this shelf fits perfectly in width depth and height. My only complaint is that the backing was not aligned and I had to remove the tape that held it together to re-aligned it. It caused the piece to crack a little which is ok since this is hidden and for storage. Impressed with the hardware - all metal. And it comes with a magnetic screw driver!
