This gazebo was the perfect addition to our 16x16 deck. The shade makes outdoor living possible at all hours of the day. This gazebo looks amazing in our yard, and seems very sturdy after a strong thunderstorm tested it yesterday for the first time. But as several reviewers mentioned, the assembly was ROUGH! In some spots the instructions were very unclear, with images that didn't accurately represent the process at a given step. It definitely takes two people in some spots, even with more than one ladder for support while assembling. But now that it's done we really love it. So--it is correctly rated as "DIY--Experienced", and will take many more hours than the instructions say unless you have at least two tall ladders and four tall workers to help put it together. I was hesitant when I unboxed this at first thinking it would not last a good size storm. I did anchor to post with the cement screws provided, but cemented the other two inside of outdoor gardening pots. The roof panels seemed like they were simply cardboard covered in plexi glass coating, therefore my hopes were not high for the durability. It looks good in the photos, but far from what was espected. Even though the instructions are fairly good and the packaging was excellent, the time to assemble for 2 people is no where near 6-8 hours. The time to assemble is 2 to 3 times that. ihad to throw out all the roofing screws because they would strip out or would have come loose in the wind. I replaces with full thread roofing screws. The hup roof is designed with two j channels back to back that leaves an opening of about 1/2 inch for water to get in, I ended up filling with silicon. Fast forward to January - this little guy survived several winter storms with 70mph wind gusts and over 18" of snow. Personally love this gazebo! My must haves were to have both curtains and screen panels and to have netting at the top. Fit our sectional dining table easily. We have also hung lights perimeter which was easy with the plastic loops on the corners of the roof! It was fairly easy to put together though my husband is very handy. Only thing that was a little difficult was getting the canopy on the center posts once 34 were on, the last was extremely tight. But I’d rather have that than it be loose and come off!
