Although this one sticks out 2 1/4 inches aound the door, the way the knob portion angles, it's flush with the countertop at the top. I especially like the angle for access to the knobs. Although some have noted, their space between the back wall, I have none and there should be none if install installed properly. Also, others have noted the cooling process sends warm air out the front vent, I knew it going in and it is not bothering me. The bottom Storage door is a bit light weight and small, but I'm glad to have it, as some do not and it's fitting a fair amount of stacked cookie sheets and broiler pans. We purchased this for a new home build that had a slide in range in an island. We did not want an exhaust hood that hung down from the ceiling and this one was perfect for a flush mount in the ceiling. It was priced considerably less than other brands that had white glass finishes. There are a couple discoveries we made however. It did not turn on once the power was brought to the new build. We called Awoco and were told to check in the black box under the stainless grill, for a white connection that sometimes is disconnected. That solved the problem and the unit lit up and worked with the remote and the voice commands. Customer service was very helpful and seemed to know exactly what to look for. There is one other thing to be aware of with the voice command, occasionally it picks up what it believes to be a request for action and starts talking, asking for directions. We thought we were hearing voices until we realized it was the exhaust fan talking.
