When purchasing an entertainment center, I didn't want something to just sit the television on, I wanted something to that I could place memories on and in as well as have storage for my necessities. This entertainment center with bookshelves and storage was the perfect option for me. My new space is small but cozy and so I needed something not so extravagant but fit the environment. This fit perfectly in the space provided. The many shelves give me what I need to put my many generations of family photos. The storage space is wide and long enough to fit the multiple photobooks that I have. I even have room at the top to place my plants and drape the vines over. Although this is not solid wood, it is very sturdy. There are not uneven surfaces, so there is no wobbling. It is a big heavy to move, so if you plan to move it, make sure that you have help. Now, the part that I dreaded was the assembly. The pieces came in 2 packaging so I did not think that there would be a lot. HOWEVER, there was like 100 pieces to put together. This is a 'big boy' entertainment center. Each of the 4 boxes arrived on different adjacent days, and are individually quite heavy. From 80 to 100lbs each. Packaging was so much better than I've ever experienced. The corners, where most damage happens, had solid rubber inserts. I had not one single piece damaged from corner drops. The flat sides, although slightly scuffed, arrived in great shape. I opted to have this built with one of Wayfair's assembly team. It took one guy, just less than 7 hours to put it together, place it in my desired location, and tidy everything up. Of course, the trash is mine to deal with, but my basement living room was returned to it's pre-assembly condition. Lots of wood screws (this is a good thing) rather than those 'post and spin' nuts. The LED lights work just fine without the need to download yet another app. Unit comes with 2 remotes, one for left 'dual' window side, and one for the right 'single' window side. One remote will work both sides. So, hide one from the little ones to keep as a backup. Is it for you? It's big! Tons of room, plenty of storage on the bookshelves and in the glass cabinets. Drawers are sturdy and have ample room for those 'out of sight' items. All in all, I would totally buy this again.
