The Y-Latch is a swing latch that provides adjustability to your gate. Designed to work with aluminum gates and is composed of steel, so it will withstand the most extreme weather conditions. This latch is is lockable in two places for extra security and works with 2" posts and 2" uprights.

This Y-latch is just what I was looking for, it is a little bigger then i needed, but it won't work with my gate. the space between the gate and the post is too small. I think you need at least 2in. I used these two latches for my she shed. I need them to lock the gate as I come in and out. They do the job and I like that they are stainless steel for the weather outdoors so they don't tarnish! You'll need to put a string around the top and latch it somewhere so you don't get locked in wherever you put it. The door could close on you and you wouldn't be able to open it.. Lori.
