I’m in the process of finding a new outdoor table with an umbrella hole, and I have no worries that this base will keep the umbrella steady. I like the fact that it come with several hole adjustments for various size poles. I had to use the 1.5 inch hole tube. Update, have a new table with the umbrella hole. Love it! It is heavy, as it says it is, and doesn't require filling with sand or water which is nice. The wheels on the one side make it easier to move when on a smooth surface (otherwise I just pick it up entirely). Hours and hours are spent by a ceramic artist to painstakingly form, pinch and shape the porcelain clay into these master forms which are not only beautiful and unusual but have the structural integrity to maintain their shapes when fired. The coup de grace is the extreme variation in subtle color and opacity of the reactive glaze - a range from dusty browns and grays to clear golden citron.

The piece arrived very quickly and the quality was what I expected. However, the coloring was different from what I expected. The online photos showed a rust color veining, but in person it was more of a "dirty, earthy green" color veining.
