This was the most well packaged and clearly marked build I have ever bought. Someone has OCD because it was ON POINT!! Directions were very easy to follow, and all the holes lined up. Love this gazebo. The wood is solid cedar and it is pre-finished in a nice cedar color. I'm not sure if the finish would last in the elements (we live in Canada where the winters are harsh) so we put a good cedar stain on it prior to winter. My husband also built a cedar louvered privacy wall on the one side so we stained the whole thing the same colour. It was fairly simple to assemble and took two of us a weekend to put up.. Lorri.
