This is a great pergola! I love that it provides an area of shade on my back porch without blocking the sunlight coming into my house completely. The roof itself is light filtering, which is great because it’s not completely blacked out. I love the curtains and mash liner so that I can enclose it if I need to or keep it open. The installation itself was not accurate according to the instruction pamphlet. It only needed two people, but took between six and eight hours to assemble. Solid construction. Not quite like the picture. Screws are black, not gold, roof panel does not look exactly like picture either. Put together by myself in about 13 hours, from unboxing to last screw, not extremely handy but a decent DIY'er. I did needed about 10 minutes of help from my wife to align the brace supports from the posts to the frame. The most annoying part was taking all the plastic off the metal roof panels (Tip: Don't try to do this if the panels are too cold or too hot, you will be tearing off small pieces). Out of all the material I would say the roofing panels look good but are very thin, the framing structure is quite sturdy to brace the panels but wouldn't want much snow to build up on it, as I can see the panels sagging under the weight.. This pergola does a good job of protecting from the sun and cooling down the atmosphere.it also helps to keep pesky bugs away! It took about 3 hours to assemble with only one person. Although the instructions could have been more clearer, it wasn’t too difficult to assemble. It looks pretty and exactly as it was advertised online. However, I did order the larger twelve by ten feet pergola but it was not the size I received. I had my concrete slab measured and then installed a concrete pad according to the measurements provided online. This is because my patio’s concrete slab was too small for it and the pergola must be installed onto a leveled foundation. However, while installing the pergola, we noticed it was too short about two feet. It measured ten by ten feet. Since it isn’t a very large and heavy pergola, we were able to just purchase a concrete pad to install it onto. It seems pretty sturdy and holds up well. Overall, I do recommend this pergola for anyone looking to add a stylish addition to their backyard. It is low maintenance and a quick one day project. It provides good protection from the sun while keeping bugs away. Although I received the smaller size, it is still large enough to accommodate a dining table with seating for six people. Appearance wise, it looks very pretty, exactly as advertised online. It is a modern look with the matte black and beige shade. It is neutral to most decor and easy to blend with patio furniture.. We were able to assemble it with the wrench included in the kit, but a drill would have been a welcome tool. The screw packaging had deteriorated so they were all mixed up. Having the screws presorted would have made the process quicker. The first half of assembly took the longest, but steps 7-13 were super quick and easy. It was worth all the effort. My husband put it together, and did say that it is labor intensive, and even more so if you jump in without reading the instructions first - so he highly recommended reading the instructions before getting started. I was surprised by how small a box this pergola was packaged in. All of the large pieces were in half and had to be assembled, which was quite easy. The instructions were just pictures, no text, but very easy to follow. The parts were engineered to fit together perfectly. For the final steps, two or three people are needed because the pergola is reaching its final size and must be lifted for the final step of attaching the lower half of the legs. I called Wayfair to ask if mine were missing, and they reported they are not included, and subsequently changed the description, which previously stated side curtains were included.. Susan.
