We got the one from kichner it was a dimmer with the transformer built in and when this thing is dimmed all the way down, it's still pretty bright. meaning when i turn them up they light up my counters perfectly. my one worry is i don't know how long they will last and if i should keep a spare around. i hope they last as long as led lights are supposed to. but 1 week in, i'm thrilled..
