I purchased the 100 gallon Algreen Cascata rain barrel and had it attached to the down spout from my gutters. It filled up with the first little one hour rain storm we had and is working wonderfully. I recommend that after you attach the spigots, fill the barrel with enough water to test the seals around the spigots. If they drip at all, empty the water out and seal around the plastic attachments with either Flex Seal or exterior caulking. I did both when the Flex Seal bubbled and cracked a little on one of the barrels. You will need to drill a few holes in the bottom of the planting area for drainage. You can see the platform my husband built with (9) 12” x 12” concrete pavers set in leveled paver sand. There is plenty of room to fill a watering can from the front brass spigot, so you don’t need to build an additional raised platform for the barrel. The barrel looks really great, gutter guys and neighbors were both favorably impressed.
