(The only reason for a 4-star rating is due to the plastic hose and handwand. All other aspects are a strong 5-star!) The handheld shower unit came with a plastic hose, which I immediately replaced. I am sure the plastic one would have worked well, but the metal replacement looks much better and will last longer. Update on previous review: We have enjoyed this shower system for 3 months and it has been amazing! The water pressure and flow is excellent - much better than expected. The upper head has 2 settings: rain and typical spray. The rain setting is very soothing and soft. The typical spray setting provides a lot of water at great pressure. As noted above I replaced the plastic hose with stainless steel hose. That has worked well. In addition, I actually replaced the hand wand with a Moen unit and prefer it over the one that came standard. (The Moen unit has additional spray settings that the standard unit lacked) The controls on the system are excellent, allowing temperature control on one stalk and water distribution on the other. I really like the ability to set temperature independent of the "on/off" valve. I also love the surface mounted aspect of the system. Not only is it attactive, but this design will make servicing it much easier should an issue arise. Our plumbers commented on the quality of the unit and how easy it was to install. Beautiful shower but read reviews and watch videos! The shower works perfectly if installed correctly but there are a few steps vital to the installation that are not mentioned. 1. The fittings that go into the plumbing are European and not NPT. They are knuckled and very loose once screwed in. If you try to use plumbers tape the knuckled ridges will tear it off.. You therefore must use pipe sealant (all the reviews describing this step have been taken off, i assume the sites didn't want to promote brands of pipe sealant so I won't include any in the review) or it will leak. Once the sealant is applied you have a few minutes to adjust it properly but it will not move anymore once dry so be careful! 2. The temperature can be adjusted by removing the cap over the thermostat and unscrewing the module. There is a plastic ring with small increments that let you increase the temperature and reposition the module, otherwise you will have a cold shower even if you turn it past the safety zone..
