Installation was a bit tricky as this was the first custom shower drain I have installed but I was able to figure it out. Once installed this drain is awesome. The large water collection area prevents any kind of pooling and has a luxurious feel about it. The cleaning solution will not alter the color, texture, or feel of fabrics, and contains a special soil repellent that helps to prevent clothing, draperies, and other fabrics from re-soiling. The cleaning solution is great for travel and other times when ironing is impractical! How and why the cleaning solution works: Clothing and other fabrics can develop surface properties that lead to creases and wrinkles. The process of laundering can generate static with additional electrical charges that intensify these properties and create “static cling” as well as heavy wrinkling. The specially developed cationic and anionic surfactants within the cleaning solution are designed to dissipate these forces by acting as an anti-static agent, while they also serve to soften, relax, and smooth out wrinkled surfaces. We had this system installed in our remodeled bathroom in September 2023. For the most part, it has worked beautifully and we've been ecstatic with it. However, it is not without issues. It has to be re-paired with Amazon Alexa every 3 months, unlike every other Alexa skill out there. Why? Who knows. Because Kohler says so, I guess. Lately it has been needing to be re-paired every 2 weeks (today was the 3rd time). Also today it said there's a firmware update, but when I go to update I get a message that the shower is offline and I need to check the wifi connection. How? There's no wifi settings on the shower setup or in the app, or in my Kohler account anywhere. There is an Advanced/Locked section of settings that requires a PIN on the in-shower control and I have no idea what the PIN is or how to find it; we didn't set it and we can't get into these settings. The shower and all its components is gorgeous and feels wonderful, but these tech issues are enough to drive you crazy, especially 18 months after install.. Cajunmeggle. Tennessee. Wed Feb 26 2025
