We purchased this for a new home build that had a slide in range in an island. We did not want an exhaust hood that hung down from the ceiling and this one was perfect for a flush mount in the ceiling. It was priced considerably less than other brands that had white glass finishes. There are a couple discoveries we made however. It did not turn on once the power was brought to the new build. We called Awoco and were told to check in the black box under the stainless grill, for a white connection that sometimes is disconnected. That solved the problem and the unit lit up and worked with the remote and the voice commands. Customer service was very helpful and seemed to know exactly what to look for. There is one other thing to be aware of with the voice command, occasionally it picks up what it believes to be a request for action and starts talking, asking for directions. We thought we were hearing voices until we realized it was the exhaust fan talking. This is the quietest range hood I have ever used with an unique design. The installation is straight forward for most with video tutorial online that's readily available. I went with a professional installation. This range hood is rated at 1100cfm and the unique design has worked very well. My home no longer smells even when I deep fry. I did two modifications for my installation. I went with a Zephyr 6"-8" duct increaser. The reason I did this is because the range hood is rated over 1000cfm. This might not be necessary but it's a choice I made for myself because of the rated CFM. My installation required a 4" spacer piece. I used 6" 10-32 fine thread screws to secure my upper cabinet to the range hood to make up the 4" spacer difference. This is not necessary according to Fotile but I went the extra mile for $13 more in screws, bolts, and washers. So far I am very satisfied with how quiet and powerful it is. It is absolutely beautiful, and comes with several sink features any at home chef would love. The sink is exceptionally smooth with no visible pores and has a wonderful stone finish. The craftsmanship on this product stands above many other commercial sinks I have looked at. We have not yet had a chance to install. Overall the cutting board looks of good quality and the scrap tray is perfect with its deep pocket holding capacity. We got our 30” range a week ago. It shipped out the same day I bought it, and arrived well-protected in lots of packaging. We were anxious about buying it sight unseen, but it is everything the website claims. I have always cooked on gas, and of course anticipated induction would be slow, etc. Instead, the learning curve for me is how incredibly fast and responsive the cooktop is. It’s kind of amazing. I’m very happy to have an electric oven that doesn’t vent like gas, as well - I can bake sourdough loaves free-form since the oven holds steam. And we love no longer having the inevitable “small leakages” of propane in the house. Overall, the range is gorgeous and high quality. I’m still puzzled, though, about the timer for baking/cooking. If I’m correct, there is a single timer available? I haven’t had time to explore that further yet - but I can’t imagine why on an electronic appliance there wouldn’t be at least a few timers available, and easily accessible (for all sorts of things - not just cooking with the range). The suction is very strong and operates on low sone level. The lights are very bright and create a very pretty shape on the backsplash . The 4 filters cover the entire pull-out area covering the entire surface above the burners on the cooktop. The installation was effortless. It required just a minor adjustment on the cabinet cutout. Unit is defective from manufacturer. Contractor installed and the hood will not raise up. I know electrical controls pretty well and after doing some troubleshooting the button to raise the hood gets no power from the board and the fuse is in good condition. Hope it gets fixed quickly.. The bottom of the sink has a little lip that is not covered by the front so depending on your cabinet, you may have to put a strip of wood across it since it doesn’t drop in and that’s what we had to do which was a little disheartening. Patricia. Columbia Va. Fri May 29 2026
