We purchased these as an upgrade to previously purchased tiles that was matte in texture. (Same company) There was an issue with the installation/setting of the tiles, so the contractor offered to redo the bathroom floor at his expense. I preferred the polished tiles so I paid the additional cost to get these. I like them because the polished finish offer a nice sheen but I find them a bit difficult to maintain. I used this slate both inside and out and love the way it looks. Our new home is modern industrial and the rustic feel of this slate was the look we were trying to achieve. It does show footprints and we did use this in high traffic areas like our entry. We used a few rugs to cut down on the maintenance which is no more than a damp mop.
