Installation is easy and maintenance is low: each 4x4 anchor post base has four bottom holes and eight top holes for stronger fixation. Simply tighten the self-tapping screws to install it on wooden decks. For concrete or other hard surfaces, drill holes in the ground, tap in expansion bolts, then install the self-tapping screws. Designed for 3.5x3.5in wooden posts, the base has a 6x6in bottom outer size and 2.62-inch height for stable, wobble-free support. This is exactly what I needed to get rid of the big ugly base on my umbrella. The holes for the umbrella base are tapped for M8 bolts. The outer holes work for 14 bolts. The base is powder coated dark grey with some metallic flakes. This comes with 16 lag screws that are about 2” long. I didn’t use these as they wouldn’t sink far enough into the support joists..
