This bed is built so beautifully! It’s definitely not a bed you’re building from scratch. Essentially it’s attaching the sideboards to the head and footboard along with screwing the wooden slats onto the center supporting platform and the sideboards. I wish there were screws on both sides of every wooden slat (some are only screwed into the middle platform) but aside from that this is a very sturdy bed for a reasonable price. So pretty! The wood on this bed is solid with a nice grain. It's a beautiful neutral oak color as you can see compared to our reddish red oak floors. The rattan is real not plastic and backed by a wood panel (so your head isn't going to crack or break the weave). The side boards are one solid piece (vs two shorter pieces patched together which is much less stable) and the platform rails have velcro on the ends to keep it from shifting around the bed. My 8 year old son picked out this bed frame for himself. He loves the lights and the floating look. We put the bed together in just over an hour. I recommend having someone to help you.
