The product itself is great. However sonneman dissapointing me in how they ship the box. When you are paying this amount of money for a simple concept you'd expect to have the shipping box in a properly packaged and in a safe way. Had to send first one back as it came cracked and bent. We received our Perigold light in four days so shipping was awesome. It came very well packaged, and it was very straightforward on how to install it. We installed it on a beam so it was a little harder because we didn’t have an actual light box which would’ve made it a super easy installation. It has wonderful light. It’s over our dining table and it will be perfect on high beam to play games or do whatever you want to do so that you can see very well and then it dims down to a really nice softlight. One review mentions it did not have enough light for a galley kitchen and I believe that would be true if it was your only source of light, but it is awesome over a kitchen table where you have other lighting around it. It is very heavy duty and the electrical wire has no problem getting nice and straight once the light is hung. Also we used it with a Lutron dimmer and that went flawlessly, there is no flickering or noise. We are so very pleased with this light. Thank you Perigold for such great service and product.. Cindy. I chose this fixture for my home office. It's absolutely beautiful and gives plenty of light. The shade is acrylic, which makes it lightweight, but it looks like a pricey glass fixture. I have it installed on a vaulted ceiling, and it was easy to get it adjusted so the light hangs level, even though the base is flush against the slant of the ceiling. It operates beautifully on an "Advanced Dimmer Switch for LED and Incandescent Bulbs" (Leviton item DSL01-LW). In my pics, forgive the mess in the rest of the room—we're working from the top down and just got this light up yesterday. This light is NOT dimmable unless you run a separate low-voltage line through your walls and ceilings. It requires a 5-wire, 0-10v dimming system in order to work. This is not compatible with pre-existing residential wiring. Unless you're purchasing this for a new-home construction situation, you will either have to fish new wiring through your walls or accept the fact that you can't dim this light.
