This really looks great over our vintage pool table. It definitely gives off a retro vibe that matches the look we are going after perfectly. We also put a ping pong top on the pool table. My husband can easily raise or lower this light as needed for whichever game we are playing. There is plenty of chain to customize the height. The three lights are just the right amount of light to illuminate the pool table. There is really no glare. The width of this light ensures that the entire table is lit up. I took off a star because it is really strange that on one side the pool balls read upside down. Why weren't they made to read right side up on both sides of the light? You do have to supply your own choice of light bulbs too as they are not included in the box. Each light bulb can be up to sixty watts. There is a little light assembly before installation but the directions are easy to follow. I like the matte black finish and the clear light shades. This is a well made light fixture that should withstand pool and ping pong games for a long time. Plus this is just a really fun piece. I have already had compliments regarding the look.. Terry. Really a nice light fixture. Installation was straight forward even though the instructions were absolutely worthless. Some reviews stated that the installation was difficult, aI think they probably were confused by the terminal block used to connect the wiring. They were the screw-down type and really not all that common in the US. But, that's why Google is your friend! The fixture is quite light, l prefit everything first then removed the shade for the wiring- add the shade last. I was able to complete the job without any assistance. It can absolutely be a one person job. The only difficulty was with the decorative nuts for the mounting bolts; the bolts could be a little longer in my opinion. This is a beautiful chandelier. It is a hardwired chandelier and that is why I gave it four stars. In the description it said it was plug in. I can see how well made the stain glass is made and how nice and well constructed the perch, cap and chain are. The instructions are pretty clear, and it comes with a glove to protect the glass. I cannot wait until my renovation is ready for this lamp to be hung. Update: The chandelier looks beautiful hanging above my dining room table (that just got moved out so the floor can be refinished). At night, it gives good light that can be dimmed and that has a faint green tinge. UPDATE: We hung this today and my rating has gone to 7 stars out of 5. The color is greener than in the picture. Absolutely perfect stained glass light to go in my Craftsman style home built in the '20's! I got the matching wall sconces to go on either side of the fireplace and they are perfect! Shipped and packaged VERY securely. The glass itself is a lighter weight, thinner glass, but that is excellent for such a large chandelier. I have a full weight stained glass chandelier and it had to have extra bracing to even hang it. I love that this is slightly lighter in weight, but will be adding the extra protection, just in case.
