your typical complicated assembly but the seats are very nice. I think that white isn't accurate, more like a cream color but that's ok, I'm not seeking a match-matchy look in my home. getting cushion on was a bit of a challenge in that the leg pinches together right a mid point on the cushion, important to be careful during that step or you could rip the boucle. Seat is thick and well cushioned which is main reason why we bought these. happy overall with purchase, I think it was good value for 3 stools. a few scuffs on wooden piece but not a deal breaker..
