I really love the piece so was extremely disappointed that I could not give it more than three stars. First, the good things. It was not due to arrive until between 4-8 Feb, but arrived today, 1 Feb. That was awesome because it was more convenient for me to receive it on the 1st. As a result, I was able to start putting it together right away. As I am unpacking I see the 2nd thing I was excited about...the drawers were assembled which meant I only had to put together the bookshelf! All was going well and then the following major issue occurred. In step 6 where they instruct to attach piece 7 to the two number 8 pieces. This is impossible with what was provided. (See attached photos) They should have either only drilled a narrow hole with a wide opening to sink the head of the screw, included a washer, or provided a screw with a bigger head. As it stands, the hole was drilled the same diameter all the way through the board and the head of the screws are the same size as the holes which means the screws have nothing to grasp on in order to hold piece 7 to the two number 8 pieces. The same thing is true of piece 10 in step 8. The screws go all the way through the holes which causes there to be nothing to secure them to the two number 8 pieces, causing an incomplete unit. Off to the garage to see if I have some screws with bigger heads or some washers I can use to put the unit together. But before I do, I feel I need to mention that I paid $354.99 for the unit and now all the sudden it is $429.99 (on sale). Why the price increase? I was considering purchasing another of these units, but with the problems, it isn't worth $354.99, let alone $429.99! This issue could have been avoided had the maker put even one unit together themselves before selling. It would be an easy thing for them to correct going forward on other units.. Anonymous.
