My district purchased these desks for my high school class, and I've had them for over one full year. I have them in groups of 3 or 4 each day. Students love the surface - mine use dry erase markers on them daily and it wipes clean right away without leaving behind any residue. Maybe once a month I spray it with dry erase board cleaner and a quick wipe leaves it looking like new. It is roomy enough for a student text or laptop, but does not take up a lot of space. I also requested casters on the bottom, and it is now very easy to move. Most are without the wire box, but the ones that do have a wire box are roomy enough for a student to place a few books..
