just received and set up this foam mattress pad and topper, and my first impression is very positive. It appears to be about 4 inches thick total, with approximately 2 inches of memory foam and a 2-inch plush pillow top, which gives my mattress a much more luxurious feel. The topper expanded nicely after unpacking and fit my mattress well. It instantly made my bed feel softer and more supportive without feeling like I’m sinking too deeply. It definitely gives the bed more of a hotel-style comfort. I haven’t slept on it long enough to comment on long-term comfort or durability, and I’m especially interested to see whether it sleeps cool or retains heat. I’ll need several nights to really evaluate that, but based on the initial setup and how comfortable it feels, I’m very happy with my purchase. Not as thick as I had hoped, closer to a thick mattress cover. Not much different from a down blanket, really. Still, it’s a great deal for something that is great for your health due to it being hypoallergenic and good for your skin! It’s basically a nice topper for firming up a foam mattress, or adding a hypoallergenic layer overtop something that’s not rated as being very “green”. We first tried this over a firm latex pad, and it did not add much noticeable improvement in thickness or softness. Next, we tried this down pad over a 2 inch thick foam pad, and it made all the difference! I am not at all a fan of foam pads. However, using this topper over the foam pad makes the foam less susceptible to sinking! Love it! This gel memory foam mattress topper is wonderful. It came packaged very condensed, and was very easy for me to carry inside. It comes with a special blade to cut the plastic off so you do not damage the topper itself. Unfolding on my bed took 10 minutes, and within an hour it was fully expanded and ready for me to put the rest of the bed linens on. Added these toppers to the 8" foam mattresses that came with the beds. I purchased two twin beds for a guest bedroom. My only regret is I should have purchased 3",or even 4" toppers.
