The 1-3/8″ x 36″ Polished Smooth Carpet Trim easily covers a seam or gap between two flooring surfaces of unequal height. Carpet Trim prevents carpet edges from fraying, vinyl floor seams from curling and creates a smooth transition between different flooring surfaces. Aluminum trim is easily secured to wood and concrete floors with provided Screw Nails.

This worked perfectly between the playroom carpet and the old oak floors in the hallway. For some reason, the carpet installer (all those years ago) had not used anything for the threshold, and the cats had been pulling out the carpet next to the wood. This piece solved the problem! The color is as described, shiny silver, wish they had more of a matte color. Be sure to pre-measure your space! We had to trim this length wise (door length) and the fit for the width that covers both sides of the floors was too narrow so we had to adjust the floors. This is very good quality oak threshold, long enough for 2 standard doors, I believe. It was a really good price. The only problem is that it is the orangey honey oak color from the 80's. There were about five different finishes, but every single one was pictured with exactly the same color. So you could not choose the finish you actually needed.
