I did pick up some removable clear silicone corner protectors to use while the bed is extended as there are a couple of corners that look like they could catch an unsuspecting shin. Daughter loves her bed! It seems pretty sturdy. The negatives for me are the side opposite of the desk is unfinished, it just has black backing on the side so it limits where the bed can be placed from an aesthetic perspective it basically has to be in a corner if you don’t want to see the black backing side.
