I love modern art and this design fits my personality and decor perfectly! The bone china is exquisite and as a home chef, I wanted a solid white, yet elegant backdrop for the food I serve my guests. I don’t like doing dishes, so my new pattern had to be dishwasher safe, as well as be able to be used in the microwave. The product description says that “Orbit” was safe for both. However, when I put a bowl in the microwave to warm some leftovers, the metal around the rim started sparking and almost caught fire. When I immediately took it out, it was so hot that I burned the inside of my thumb! I would have easily given this set 5 stars, had this not happened. Wayfair and one other retailer are the only ones who list this set as “dishwasher and microwave safe.” The manufacturer and all others state that because of the metal trim, it is only “dishwasher and warm oven” safe. I still LOVE this set even though we’ve had to make adjustments when warning food. Just got these but so far I love them! I really like the look of stoneware but don’t like how breakable they are. I looked for an option that was somewhere between stoneware and correl style for a long time and found this set.
