They are most definitely NOT black. They are a hammered appearing brown with reddish flecks. See attached picture. I'm happy that they came in various sizes, will be hanging them soon. This post lamp was very well packed. It arrived in perfect condition. As advertised, it was easy to install, and the light provides a very nice glow. It can be set up with a part that meets dark sky standards, which our community requires. The design syncs well with modern mission transitional style. I made the mistake of ordering two because the site froze up before I submitted, so I thought I needed to resubmit.
