This seems to be well made and it's a bonus that it's FSC Certified (win in my book). However, I assumed it was unfinished but it has a red-ish brown stain on it. I put it out to see if my husband noticed and the first words out of his mouth were "It's nice. But it's kinda red." To be clear it's not a bad color, just more red (maybe it's a redwood stain?) than what I was looking for.
