The white base has a slight yellow tone , and the worn distressing looks more like someone has handles it with dirty hands instead , this table would be easy to paint . The top has a nice grain but not friendly for a flat writing surface , the top is uneven maybe that’s part of the rustic look ( and feels like splinters) , the top has a nice gray shade distress to the brown . Adore the product! Frustrated beyond belief with the directions which have nothing but pictures. Delivery was superb, and the product arrived and perfect condition. The table is heavy and appears to be good quality, however it was damaged when we took it out of the box. The table travelled by Fed Ex from California to Indiana and the manufacturer requested we send it back. It’s a bit inconvenient and unfortunate as I think the table would have been nice.
