This is a good storage bench. The larger area has an adjustable optional shelf. The cushion is soft enough for extra seating but firm enough to be sturdy. I was able to put it together myself, but it was frustrating at times. Many of the holes aren’t drilled properly, making it hard to screw in things. The two doors for the larger part aren’t close enough, so you can see a space. The thing to lift up the cushion was especially difficult to screw in. On the down side: 2 of the hinges were very tight. the pre-patterned places to install one of the doors was slightly off so the one door looks uneven and does not close properly with the magnet. the fabric on the cushion is very chintzy- I will end up recovering it (which is not a big deal).. The item is nice looking, but for how expensive it is, I thought the quality would be better. I give zero stars for the customer service experience with purchasing this item. The price dropped significantly the day after I bought it, but they would not allow me to cancel the order and purchase a new one for the lower price. They told me I would have to wait for the item to be delivered and then ship it back to return it and purchase another one. Absolutely ridiculous.
