The comforter looks like the photo. It is very pretty. It is a little thinner than I thought it would be. I did wash it before using, gentle cycle. Some reviews said that it fell apart after washing, it did NOT do that, it was just fine. The material is not soft though. It is a little “crispy” feeling, but that may soften up in time. This is a beautiful comforter set. The comforter seems well made and it's a perfect medium weight. I got the blue/gray combo and the blue is a beautiful aqua color - just like it's shown in the picture (and just what I was hoping for). The seams on the shams are not very sturdy and I ripped one while inserting a standard size pillow. I also wish the shams were a mirror image, so each of openings faced the outside of the bed. I used the included pillow cases to make pillow covers for 18x18 inserts. The color of the round pillow and the text on the lumbar pillow are more of a powder blue, so they don't really match. The pattern on it is unique, with different materials used. I love that this gives it some character and adds to the warmth of the room. It’s a classic style, but also modern and appropriate for all ages. It is perfect for fall and spring. For winter, I’d probably add a layer underneath.
