The gas springs have so much pressure, when I tried to close the lid, it split the wood. I fitted braces to reinforce the wood, then the whole cover started separating as it was held together with glue and cheap staples! I had to buy and fit more braces and re-glue and screw the whole cover together again! This mount is great. Perfect for saving floor space. My only complaint is it didnt come with assembly instructions and they are noton the product page like Wayfair usually has.
