I needed something to store extra dishes and also display my Christmas village. We were a bit hesitant to get this because it had no reviews yet, but it was on sale so we decided to get it. Overall we are happy with it for the sale price (50 off) but if I had paid full price I would probably be unsatisfied. The material seems a bit cheap in some spots, there were 3 spots where the wood was slightly chipped and damaged . The listing definitely doesn’t show that the paneling on the legs is actually made of flexible board that velcros on. This can be looked at as a plus because there is additional hidden shelving behind it so we will be using it for extra storage space, but if that would have been shown I’m not sure I would have purchased this as it does look a bit cheap up close. Assembly was somewhat challenging but if you have a decent amount of experience assembling furniture it’s not too bad and it actually does come with extra reinforcement assembly tools such as sliding pads to protect your floors and small wedges to really keep the backing in place. These arrived quickly and once put together look really nice and solid. Packages well to avoid scratches, etc. and will be a nice upgrade from my disposable ones. The 2 cons are that they require assembly, which most items like this don’t if purchased elsewhere. Assembly looked worse than it was though- first one took about 15 minutes, then the others only took about 5 minutes each. It’s just attaching the frame to the legs and then the base sterno tray into the legs. The other con worth mentioning is that unlike many other chaffing dishes of similar design, the frames of these do NOT stack into each other. It feels sturdy and well-made, not cheap at all. The glass lids are nice because you can see the food without opening it, and it actually keeps everything warm for a good amount of time. It was also really easy to set up and clean, which is always a plus. I’ve used it for gatherings and it definitely gives that nice “catered” look without the extra cost.
