This is my first gun safe and I haven’t had any issues with it thus far. I have yet to change the combination, but don’t feel the need to do so at the moment. This took about an hour and 30 minutes to put together. I’d recommend having a second person hold it while you put it together. The door is semi heave when it’s open which can cause it to fall on you while you are putting it together. Definitely recommend anchoring it to the wall as well. It came a little damaged but it was just cosmetic. Once it was put together the door wouldn’t close. I had to mess with the hinges a bit with a screw driver to get it to fix. The Top Draw XD is an upgraded version of our original Top Draw 2912-S BLK. The upgrade includes a heavy duty internal steel lock cover bolted to the lid with ¼” bolts secured to 3/8” steel welded blocks. This upgrade makes it extremely difficult to punch out the lock from the outside. The interior is lined with thick foam on the top and bottom to secure your firearm while traveling. The top opening case features an easily programmable five push button Simplex mechanical lock that does not require batteries. The Top Draw can accommodate up to two pistols depending on their sizes. The safe was packaged very well with no damage during transportation. It took two people to hold and put together. You just screw the screws in the sheet metal. It’s a decent gun safe (cabinet) to lock guns away but not overly heavy duty. It does come with bolts to bolt to the floor which is what we will be doing so it’s not picked up and hauled off. This gun safe is just what I needed. It's not so heavy that I can't scoot it around. We did screw it to the wall so it's nice a secure, no one can get to the screws without opening the safe. The instruction booklet could definitely be improved. It took us a bit to figure out where the battery goes and how to get the keypad off. Until we got that off, we did not know where the key goes because it is not illustrated in the booklet. However, once you get the keypad off the key hole is in the middle. The locking mechanism seems very sturdy. I love the touchpad, both my husband and I were able to program our fingerprints. It does not state how many you can have so I'm not sure on that.
