Great for international flights. Flew from Texas to Colombia, and back, with my 62lb dog and it met all the guidelines and held up well. This is the Extra Extra Large size It’s very secure once assembled with the bolts and wingnuts, and clamps, that enclose the perimeter of the crate. The wheels were not allowed while traveling but were handy once the crate was disassembled to make it easier to move around. Improvements: - The area where the wheels attach got pretty beat up, would be nice if there was something else to put on top while not using the wheels. - the handles on top are plastic, and although they should be used just to move the top of the crate, one was missing when I returned back to Texas. Once complete and set up its a decent enclosure. We got it for our chickens and attached the hen house to it, just left off a couple bars and zip tied the entrance right to it. The instructions absolutely suck and we wound up having to unbolt like 200+ connections to double up the gussets. Now, my wife and daughter got the base started and then asked for my help, I never questioned whether or not they started it correctly so perhaps they missed a step. The door is like waist high to my 6’ frame so it’s a definite crouch to get in there. I can stand in between the “roof trusses”. It has a good appearance and I wonder how it will hold up to the AZ monsoon winds. I used spiral drill in anchors to pin it down, no way the little stakes it came with will keep this in our yard in high winds. I am contemplating what to do in a couple years when the top is sun rotted away, there are only a few trusses to make the roofline and while it looks great, it does not take much to push it off level/plumb. To my amazement, this came in three relatively small, but heavy boxes and we were a few nuts and bolts short but they at least give you a spare parts bag, which had enough to complete the build. Be prepared that this comes in literally hundreds of individual pieces so it can look overwhelming, just follow it step by step and comes together rather nicely, be patient nd take your time. It really is an amazing engineering feat to get this big ole enclosure in these three little boxes. Overall, I am pretty happy with it. I wish the top had the same level of structure (aka bars) as the walls so the fabric top can be optional for predators and when it simply rots away but it would be easy enough to just get some netting and/or a shade later.. I bought this crate as it is approved for Alaska airlines -this is a 500 series and for a 72-pound labrador who will be flying in the cargo hold. Assembly is easy enough, no tools needed, and the crate has enough space for my lab to turn around inside and sit. It feels very secure and the door of the crate has small holes on all 4 corners so that it can be secured via zip ties for travel. This is one of the very few crates available and approved for air travel, so I am happy I found it and it shipped very quickly as my lab needs to practice her crate training before our flight. What I do not like about this crate: - plastic wing nuts to secure the bolts aren't ideal, they should just include the aluminum ones by default. I had to buy the aluminum ones separately. - quality control issues - there are 3 missing washers because of which the corners cant be secured. Without the washers, the bolt just slides through the hole. I had to purchase washers separately, a set that includes 9 sizes, as I do not know what size is appropriate here, which is an additional pain point. As small and insignificant as a washer might seem, it is a very important component as the crate will be useless without. Love it! It looks so much nicer than our old wire kennel. Our dog is 60 lb (shepherd but on the shorter side) and our other 25 lb and they can both cuddle in it. This is a good quality product, but some of the pre-drilled holes did not line up which caused some issues when assembling the crate. Could have been fancier could have come in a different color. Backside is not that pretty and black screws on the pickled gray color weren't very attractive. I bought a PVC screen online from a big box store as they say and my husband used a couple of screws to attach it to the back, because that's what divides our living area. The screen was almost exactly the size width and height of the unit. No cutting necessary. We needed one that was 40ish inches and this at 47 and 23 in deep worked for our purpose. It serves divider and lamp table as well as dog house, between our living area and dining den in a long narrow room. I preferred quite a few of them, but most of the sizes in the pretty furniture ones, were between 55 and 80 to 90 in long. That just would not have worked for us. It was easy to put together just follow directions and make sure you have everything before you start. Took my husband a couple of hours. Going slowly to do it correctly. We're used to this sort of assembly. So there were no surprises. The drawers have rails so they slide easily and they hold a whole bunch of stuff. One of the reasons I chose this one over another one that was about this size is because on that one, the drawers as they were called were actually just wooden boxes that you shoved into cubbies. They did not have rails they did not slide back and forth easily. I couldn't have stood to hear that noise more than once. So this is lovely with nice sliding drawers. I have 20ish pound shelties who love to curl up and they took to it immediately. It's very nice for the price which was on sale plus I had some Wayfair points. So if it doesn't work out I can always give it away and not worry about that. I'm still looking for a really cool mid-century one that is about this size but this will do for now. I've got the top covered with plants and lamp and collectibles and photos and all kinds of things and it really does hold a lot of stuff. It is very very sturdy, and I guess I appreciate the fact that the wood is I don't know MDF or something, because real wood would smell like real stain and I don't want that kind of annoyance in the house or for the dogs. There is prettier furniture around, but what the heck we never entertain nobody will see it but us and I think it's just fine it's kind of a warm brownish Gray. Feels real nice on the top and latches easily in the latches can be locked. So far so good did I mention how sturdy?! I have provided a photo of the back side of this thing because no one anywhere I looked at reviews, had shown that and since this part faces our living room, I was interested to know just how finished it was and it is finished and though it will be covered up by chair or sofa or something, it's still is not something raw behind, it can be freestanding. Good value, good purchase. would have preferred the doors to be sliding doors back and forth, and or that it had latchable doors at either end. But this is a pretty decent design and the good reviews about it are warranted. By the way if you're putting something together like this you may find that the pre-drilled holes can be a regular sometimes. If they are a little tight, you can sort of stick a screwdriver in them and twist it around until you break off a little bit of the area. Or just start screwing in the screws and it will make its own way. If the holes are pre-drilled too large find a couple of toothpicks to stick in there to make it tighter.
