This is a lovely glass vase. The top of the vase has a very unique curved design which would look nice with modern decor. I plan on using it in my turquoise nautical themed room but it is versatile and would look nice as a table or console centerpiece. It is not entirely turquoise as depicted online . “Back to basics. I wanted to create a classic, decorative and functional series that celebrates craftsmanship and the innate beauty of the glass.” Red Rim is hand-made in several steps. First, the first parison of lead-free crystal is rolled in powdered color. The color is then heated before the parison is blown into a shape that gives the molten glass its optical pattern. Clear glass is gathered over the parison to enclose the optical pattern in the glass, and then the glass is blown into its final form and shaped into a bowl or a vase. Finally, the piece is attached to a glass-blowing pipe and blown up a touch more before the red rim is applied from a color rod.

This piece reminds me of the glass in homes when I was growing up from the 70s and 80s. It is a very thick solid piece and quite heavy. It is larger and bulkier than I thought it would be. The spirits bottle has been synonymous with Holmegaard's glass design for many years. In fact, you could go so far as to say Holmegaard's bottle has iconic status. The beautiful glass bottle is made of mouth-blown transparent glass, which makes it particularly decorative with either whisky or cognac in it on the bar trolley. The body of the spirits bottle has three columns. There are plenty of bottles on the market with four columns, but very few with three. The very special glug-glugging sound when the liquid is poured from the bottle and encounters the air in the bottle’s columns is the reason for its name in Danish, the “Kluk” bottle! This a great gift idea for that very special occasion.

Artisans shape the molten glass material using a blowpipe; during the process, amber-gold colorant is incorporated, and unique texture effects are formed through manual stirring and stretching. Finally, the production is completed through processes such as annealing. The melting temperature of the glass is approximately 1300℃-1400℃. After being blown into shape, it needs to undergo an annealing process (slow cooling at about 500℃-600℃) to eliminate internal stress and ensure the stable texture of the glass. This vase is absolutely stunning! I love it! It's nice and heavy and the colors are beautiful, I love that the mouth of the vase is irregular and not perfect, it feels more hand blown and artisan that way. Each one is unique so it doesn't look exactly lik the product photos but the colors are true and I love the metallic bits of paint sprinkled in. It was packaged well and I think I'll get a lot of use out of it. It had a bit of a coating on it after I removed it from the box and an odor but a quick wash and it is great now.
