A very large and heavy piece. I had expected a bit more robustness to the hardware that was provided but it looks like the thin back panel does some of the structural support. That panel itself was a bit shoddy - 4 panels held together by tape. Also, definitely consider securing it to the wall if you are placing it on carpet because it will wobble. luv the versatility of this unit and the ability to add more sections down the road. also love the simple but elegant design, my only dislike was the fact that brown is no longer available, also the instructions indicate that you would need to screw the top shelving unit into the basedrawers. I dislike, putting wood screw holes in the base. They should of designed it where instead of using wood screws, you could use machine screws to take it apart without damaging the wood.. William. There are 4 stacks with beveled glass, each stack is a separate block. There is no assembly required, each block is fully assembled with the doors. You will need to stack the blocks. No drilling or screwing.
