I'll preface this by saying "I fully expect these to be trashed within a few years, as I have a busy kitchen and a three year old". That being said, the faux leather has held up well to all sorts of spills, stains, bumps, etc. They don't feel very sturdy but they do the job for now. I purchased a less expensive version, fully expecting to have to replace when the kids are older. Edit 2/13/2026. We've now had these just under 6 years. While I started my first review with an expectation of these being absolutely trashed in a couple years, I am thrilled to report that I was wrong. They're holding up great to a now 8 and 4 year olds daily meals. The kids also like to use these stools as stepladders to get cereal, bread, etc out of the upper cabinets. Love them! More spendy than most bar stools but well worth the money! So glad I splurged on them. They are sturdy, comfortable look great! Everyone who comes over comments on how nice they look are surprised how comfortable they are. I was a little worried after I ordered as I am a neat freak wondered if the bar stools would not go underneath the counter top. I have just the regular 35” high island they fit perfectly. Replaced my 10year old hand me down stools with this set. It was on clearance and for the price I couldn’t resist. Took about an hour to put together, it was tight under the chair. Only downfall it did not come with the little screw in feet like it said in the instructions. I put little felt pads anyway, so I wasn’t worried. Faux leather feels good.
