Perfect touch for the look that I wanted. I wanted something somewhere between spare contemporary and traditional, which is usually to heavy/fussy for me. This lamp is clean-looking but doesn't look as if it belongs in a cold medical exam-room. I think it fits into the space with a more transitional style without sticking out like a sore thumb. I'm very happy with the result. The uplighting gives the perfect effect for the vaulted ceiling. The lamp is solid and stable. The on/off switch doesn't have the flimsy feel that many others that I've purchased had, so I'm hopeful that this one will hold up longer. I took one star off because assembly was a bit frustrating; I had more than a little difficulty working the electrical cord down inside the tube enough to screw the top of the lamp down completely - a VERY tight fit that took several attempts. The base of the first light I ordered was damaged. The concrete under the chrome which is the weight of the base started breaking off and there was a bunch of grey sand in the plastic packaging. Wayfair was on it though. They sent out another and accept for a few small scratches on the base, a slight lean, and some resistance when turning the switch, the lamp looks great!
